I have Falcon Guides and Nat'l Geographic books on Big Bend and Guadalupe Mtns. and the Texas DeLorme map-book on order from Amazon.

As soon as they arrive, I will plot the places you have named on the maps, to be sure I do not miss any of them!

After the Austin City Limits concert (or maybe before, depending on how much time I spend getting across the Gulf Coast on local roads and US highways) I'll try to take in Pedernales Falls State Park and maybe an eveing at Riverwalk Jazz in San Antonio before I head to Big Bend. I'm starting to think I did not allow enough time (two weeks) to get to Tucson by this route!

I will be coming back by I-40/US-66 across Northern AZ and NM, before the drudgery of the panhandles, but I won't get up into Utah this trip. No problem, I get to the Utah desert every 3 or 4 years.

Thanks for the tips; I'll try to incorporate them all.

-R, HKT
