You can get to the river at the US 340 pullout southbound between the bridges at Harpers Ferry. There were lots of folks pulling off to look this afternoon and also one kayaker out in the waves. Even though it isn't Great Falls, its still impressive: you can walk down to the water and sense the velocity and there are some pretty good holes.
