Hello fellow paddlers,
We have put up a new page on the Valley Mill Kayak website; our history page.
I've been a kayaker for going on 19 years now, and took a full time position as the director of the kayak school and manager of our retail store (Valley Mill Boats) in Jan. of 2008.
Since then I have learned a lot about Valley Mill's rich history of producing great paddlers, many national team members, national champions, and Olympians. Much of this information was unknown to me until I started working here. Evelyn McEwan (the current owner of Valley Mill) and her son Bruce Uthus (coach of the VM Slalom Team) have since given me a history lesson, which I thought some would also find enlightening.
If you were a Valley Mill'r , and were left off the list, or have any info you would like to contribute, please let me know.
Valley Mill has been teaching kayaking since 1956, so there have been thousands of paddlers that have come out of Valley Mill. Our history page just lists national team members, national champions, Olympians, and paddlers who have made significant contributions to our sport.

Our Store will be open this weekend, Sat/Sun 10am-4pm Valley Mill Boats 15101 Seneca Rd Germantown MD (301)840-7388
