(pre-flood) on the Cheat were tandem in a Mad River Explorer. Just had a block of foam for floation. My first runs on Sec 4 of Chattooga were solo in a 17 ft Grumman. Also, just had a block of foam.
And to preempt the obvious question: didn't destroy the boat or even badly damage it. I sold it several years later for what I had paid for it.
Of course, this back in the early 70s when men were men and so were some of the women.
