Bull sharks are famous for their ability to penetrate fresh water. In africa they are known as the "zambezi shark" because they penetrate (and if memory serves me correctly they also give birth) pretty high up river. In the US these events are recorded irregularly- I think the most famous was in some NJ river in around 1910-1915 (I forget the exact year) when there were several shark attacks (and 1+ death) in one summer. It has been assumed that was a bull shark because of the fresh water.
It seems likely that even though bull sharks are notoriously aggresive, they dont generally behave that way in the rivers- or we would probably hear more about them. BTW. Bulls are usually the biters in FL attacks- they hunt in shallow murky conditions- ie, 2-3 ft surf zones where people play.

Im pretty sure that no Bull has ever been recorded upstream of little falls dam however
