Many of the LY rapids would be really long portages over boulder-strewn banks.

You can feasibly avoid the loop (Entrance through Railroad) by putting on from the loop take-out. This would technically require permission from the state park but I know some who have gotten such permission. Or, you could just do it and risk getting caught.

That would put your portages to be more spread out. Dimple has a well worn portage trail. The others that you'd probably want to portage (Rivers End, Bruner Run) would be rough but wouldn't take all day.

Many of the lines are non-technical (like Double Hydraulic) so a scout may be all you need.

Enjoy!
