Submitted by Jeff on 04/Sep/2015 in reply to IMO - Yes posted by George on 03/Sep/2015 Message: So I owned a couple Burns previous to my current Braap, and that's kind of why I asked the question. Always heard you have to drive the burn, but never really found that to be so. I did feel like you had to watch the edges but not necessarily be all over the boat "driving" it. My Braaap I feel I do feel like I have to drive more and, as you elude to, I think that's really just the difference between planing and displacement hulls. It HAS been 16 years since I've been in a displacement hull, so I'm getting used to it again (I think I need focus in on doing draw strokes instead of full sweeps). All that said, Burn was a good boat, but I absolutely love my Braaap and wouldn't want to go back to a Burn at all. I think It's everything folks are saying - super, super fun boat to paddle, simple to roll, very fast, handles big water very well (not edgy at all despite the look of the stern being squirty). These things along w/ the creekboat characteristics make it such a good do-it-all boat I'm not sure what else you need. Even though it's a 9' boat, to me it feels like I'm paddling a 7' boat. It does not feel like a tank at all . Replies to this post No replies yet |
