Corbett's ratings for Class III and below are still more or less on target, but many of his IV's would now be viewed as III's. However, his ratings were for full-sized, general purpose, open canoes, not WW playboats, not kayaks, and not duckies or other inflatables.

His ratings are reasonably consistent, and that is a virtue.

He clearly stated his ratings philosophy in the introduction to his book and urged his readers (and those of any other authors' WW guidebooks) to calibrate on the author.
