The surfer's ear is a natural reaction to exposure to cold water. It's more of a concern now because boaters spend a lot more time (because of drysuits) down in cold water than we did years ago. In the early days we boated on the water, not in it. In later years I've been wearing a beanie with ear flaps under the helmet. A divers hood works very well also. Sometimes I layered both pieces of head gear and didn't even need ear plugs. Kept a slightly larger helmet for winter use. Replies to this post No replies yet |
