Fee increase takes effect June 1
Increased entrance and camping fees for the at Chesapeake and Ohio Canal National Historical Park will take effect June 1. The fee increase was the subject of public meetings earlier this year. The original proposal would have imposed fees at new locations. As implemented, the fee increase is limited to locations where fees were previously collected.
At Great Falls, the new entrance fee for vehicles is $10. An annual pass will cost $30. At the drive-in campgrounds, the cost of a single tent site rises to $20 per night. For more information, visit the C&O Canal Association website at http://candocanal.org/NPS.html#increase.
