We used to do that at the Lost River, where the take-out was in someone's back yard, next to his 'tater patch.

I would stop off at the Ka-Ka-Pon restaurant on the way in and buy a pie. Then we would stop and ask permission to use the back-yard takeout, and when it was invariably granted I would present the pie in thanks.
