Wrestling knee pads

Is what I've always used. Neoprene with a nice padded cushion on the knee bone. Sports Authority or Dicks is a good source.

One advantage of wearing them is if you take a tumble on slippery rocks while out if the boat you have protection .

Another advantage is the cushioning can be transferred from boat to boat.

On cold days they add a little warmth on wet runs.
