I have read that Leakin Park is the largest park within city limits in the US. A friend was recently doing some archeological work there and found a body not so long deceased near a bridge. Not specifically paddling related but could certainly change the course of your day. Back in the heyday of Baltimore's notorious open air drug markets the park was a well known dumping ground for casualties. It was featured prominently in "The Wire as a place for shooting practice. As for Gwynns Falls, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I always thought it was kinda neat. I can get lovely mountain vistas on other rivers. Stinky pollution notwithstanding, when you've barely left a three block radius in your lifetime in the concrete jungle, the area is downright wilderness.
