Hard to fix ill-prepared winter paddlers

Getting a ride in medivac was a good outcome for this person, regardless of whether he/she was in a drysuit or a wetsuit.

I have seen people in full drysuits become hypothermic immediately after a very brief winter swim.

If this person was standing in water awaiting rescue long enough for a swiftwater team to arrive on scene and the helo to be summoned it is likely the only reason he/she is still alive is because of wearing modern paddling outergear.
